A Mother's Day Gift Basket for Your Special Mom
Hasn't your mother always been there for you? So Mother's Day is the perfect time to make her feel extra special and say thank you for all she's done for you. Typically, Mom gets a card and flowers on this special occasion, which is, without question, a lovely gift. But your mother is one of a kind. Don't you think she's worth more? She deserves a thoughtfully prepared Mother's Day gift basket.
Start by finding a Mother's Day gift basket that is large enough for all of the things that you would like to include in it. Look for a basket that your mom will be able to use again, over and over. Once you find the perfect basket, you can paint it in her favorite colors and decorate it. Make sure it is completely dry before filling it with goodies.
Line the base of the basket with a nice napkin or piece of cloth. Make sure the fabric matches the decorations on your basket. You can also wind some matching ribbon around the basket handle and glue some artificial flowers onto it. This will give the basket a feminine, springtime look and feel.
Now you're all set to begin filling your basket with some special bits and pieces for your mom. Decide on one larger item for the basket's showpiece. A pretty figurine, a colorful floral bouquet, a plush stuffed animal or a family portrait are all good ideas. Center this item in your Mother's Day gift basket and make sure it won't slip or slide around.
Once you have your centerpiece in place, you can then add the other articles. Position the remaining items around the centerpiece in such a way that they complement the centerpiece nicely. The additional items might include some chocolates, a candle, some bath bubbles or salts, or anything else that your mom loves. A special addition to your Mother's Day basket would be individual pictures of the members of your family. If you're going all out, slip in a gift certificate to her local day spa.
Finally, wrap up your Mother's Day basket with colorful cellophane wrap or a special gift basket bag, and include a pretty bow on top. You should also include a thoughtfully chosen Mother's Day card. Tape the card under the bow on top of the basket.
Your mother will be thrilled when you present her with this remarkable gift basket. And your gift will carry extra meaning when she finds out that you made it yourself. For a mother, those are always the most significant gifts.
