6 Proven Ways To Fight Acne

by Angela Neo

Acne is a skin condition that affects millions of people worldwide. It can range from mild to severe, and it can and does affect people's self-esteem and confidence.

Practically anyone can be prone to acne breakouts. It does not matter if you are young or old, male or female. We are all equally exposed to this skin condition.

If you have acne prone skin, you've probably tried numerous acne products that failed to work for you. You've tried a bunch of acne creams and they never worked.

In reality, most of the acne creams in the market today work the opposite of what they claim to do -instead of getting rid of acne, they can make your acne problem worse.

If you want truly effective acne cure, take the following 6 tips :

1. Cleanse your skin gently

Use a gentle cleanser to wash you face. Do not rub on the skin too hard as this will aggravate the acne. Choose a gentle cleanser that is made for acne prone skin.

2. Fight oily skin.

When the oil glands on our skin produce too much oil, it can clog the pores.

You need to keep the oil under control to prevent this. Choose a good astringent to reduce the oil surface and keep oil production under control.

3. Keep your hands off the acne

Resist the temptation to squeeze or pop a pimple.

Popping a zit will only cause the acne to become worse. It can potentially cause an infection and acne scarring.

4. Get the right makeup.

It's not advisable that you wear makeup if you are trying to treat your acne problem. However, if you must use makeup, avoid those that are oil-based. There are non-comedogenic and even water-based makeup.

5. Shave with care.

For men who have acne problems, they have to be very careful when shaving.

It is recommended to use a razor instead of electric shavers. Also use shaving cream to prevent cuts and dryness.

6 Get sufficient sunlight

Get enough sunlight because it is actually good for your skin. But do not expose it for too long thinking that will make your acne less obvious.

Too much exposure to sunlight can skin cancer and damage your skin. Always use an oil free sun block that is at least SPF 30 for maximum benefit.
