Acne And Diet Is Not The Main Cause

by Allison Thompson

Although a number of people think acne and diet habits are closely linked this is not the sole cause for having this skin condition. In this article we take a look at some other factors which can contribute to a person suffering from this particular skin condition and how it can be treated.

Even today we are still not sure what is the main cause for a person to suffer from acne. Doctor's will often look at a number of different factors in order for them to come up with the most appropriate kind of treatment for dealing with this skin condition. Below we will look at just what the factors are that doctors look at closely and which they feel contribute towards a person developing acne.

1. Sebaceous Glands Which Are Overactive - These are to be found located deep underneath the skins surface and produce an oil called sebum. As hormonal changes take place in a person's body so often the amount of oil that these glands produce increases. Often a person's body finds it difficult to cope with this excess oil and their skins pores become blocked with the result that acne begins to develop.

2. Skins Pores Become Blocked - As you will see from above one of the reasons that the pores on a person's skin becomes blocked is that the serbaceous glands are producing to much oil. The problem is further exacerbated by the oil not actually being able to flow freely and ends up becoming trapped before it reaches the skins surface. The more oil that becomes trapped under the skins surface will push that in front of it up and zits and pimples then begin to appear on the skins surface.

3. Normal Skin Bacteria Activity - Even though acne does not actually develop because of a bacterial infection, it can actually play a major role in making the condition much worse. Normally our skin has a bacterium (known as Propionibacterium Acnes) on it, which helps to prevent harmful bacteria from getting into our skin. But when the pores of the skin become blocked this bacteria then produces chemicals, which cause the sebum oil our bodies produce to alter. This results in your skin becoming irritated and inflamed and which results in acne being present.

4. Inflamed Skin - One of the most common signs of a person suffering from acne is that their skin becomes inflamed. The three previous factors we have mentioned in this article all will contribute towards a person's skin becoming inflamed. However there may be another reason for this problem as well. Often a person's skin has become inflamed because their immune system is trying to fight off what it sees as a foreign presence.

Above we have taken a look at what are the main contributory factors for a person suffering from acne. Yes if a person has the correct diet then they will find that the chances of them suffering from acne or other skin problems are greatly reduced. However if you do find yourself suffering from this skin problem there are plenty of treatments one can use.

Certainly products such as Zenmed Derma Cleanse System, Proactiv Solution and Murad are all effective at treating this particular skin condition. But even though they contain natural ingredients so the chances of suffering from possible side effects is greatly reduced, it takes time before you begin to see any kind of results. However if you are looking for a much quicker and simpler way of treating your acne then why not consider trying out the "Acne Free In 3 Days" Program.

Yes the wrong sort of diet can certainly contribute towards a person suffering from acne, but other factors which we have mentioned above need to be taken into consideration also. When it does come to matter of acne and diet, just changing it won't immediately provide you with the kinds of results you expect. To really see an improvement you need to use some other form of treatment as well.
