Orthopedic surgeons and chiropractors see high heels as one of the main causes for womens back pains. You may find yourself enslaved to have chronic back pain if you find yourself enslaved to those 4 inch stilettos.

Women will walk an average of 10,000 steps a day. When in a pair of high heels she is putting one heck of a strain on her back and is also putting her health at risk.

High heels do not allow weight to be distributed equally throughout the entire foot. The high heels cause the body's weight to actually be centered forward on or in the toes. This goes against gravity and nature. It causes stress on the vertebrae of the spine and it causes stress on the muscles.

When women remove their high heels, you will hear a sign of relief. The relief of her whole body will feel like she is back on solid earth. The back pain will be relieved until she puts her high heels on again. The pain will come in the form of muscle spasms, stiffness and soreness.

The Story of the High Heeled Hell They were originally a way for both men and women to seem taller and show some form of status in high society. Men would were them to keep their feet in the stirrups, women would wear them to help increase their overall beauty. The trend continued for many centuries.

High heels for men have gone out of fashion, but high heels for women continue to be a trend. The trend is not just associated with sex, but it is one of fashion. Runway models, celebrities, and professionals still portray this high heel fashion trend.

High heels have been causing women back pain ever since the 1500"s. This is what the high heels cause:

calluses - bunions - curvature of the spine - pain in buttocks and back of calves - chronic back pain - hip pain - knee osteoarthritis - slipped disks - hammertoe

What research has shown the the fat heel popular in the 1980's, is no less harmful than the skinny-toed and skinny heeled stiletto so popular today. What happens is that the high heeled shoes cause increased pressure that is placed on the knees.

Podiatrists and orthopedists recommend wearing a one half to three quarter inch heel. This height is better to reduce back pain than the flat heeled shoes. A small lift from the heels supports the foot, knees and back. Physicians believe that back pain would be reduced if high heels came with a warning label that read "Hazardous to your health!"
